The City of Garland has started the process of updating its Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Strategic Master Plan. When complete, the plan will provide a vision to guide the future development, operations and programs of the City’s parks, recreation, open space, trails, and cultural arts system.

The citizens of Garland will play a major role in the development of this new vision through a variety of public engagement forums.  The Final Plan will highlight a detailed Action Plan with implementation strategies regarding park and facility improvements, programs, events, cultural arts, trails, land acquisition, funding, revenue generation, and policies.  To accomplish this, the City has partnered with Brandstetter Carroll Inc., a firm that specializes in providing recreation planning services to cities, counties and other units of local government.
