On this day in 1974 the Garland Landmark Museum was dedicated. The museum's original location was behind City Hall at Museum Plaza. Currently, it is at Walnut and Sixth Streets in Heritage Crossing.

Preschool Storytime is designed for ages 3 to 5-year-olds and their caregivers. Enjoy books, songs, exploring colors, letters, numbers, and much more that will help develop your preschooler's early literacy skills.

Los tiempos de cuento consistirán de diferentes temas cada semana incluyendo la familia, el amor, el amistad, los animales y la comida, que a su vez destacará nuestra colección en Español para niños. Se explorará un enfoque en la prealfabetización y alfabetización temprana en Inglés y Español junto con baile, canto y manualidades ocasionales. The story times will consist of different themes every week including family, love, holidays, friendship, animals and food, which in turn will highlight our Spanish youth collection. A focus on pre-literacy and early literacy in both English and Spanish will be explored along with dancing, singing and occasional crafts.

Join us for an interactive line dancing lesson with the Southern Junction Dancers. All abilities welcome.

In this program, we will craft rag rugs out of recycled materials.

Adult Book Club meets at 6:30 on the third Thursday of the month at South Garland Branch Library for a lively discussion.

Novel Ideas is Central Library's new teen book club. Meeting once a month, participants will discuss a book they have read individually.
