Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The City of Garland is working closely with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other regional partners to ensure the City has best practices in place for our employees and our community.

Daily status updates and information about City services and events are available on the City’s home page. This page contains significant documents and links, as well.

COVID-19 is a new virus, and a vaccine could be many months away. Most healthy people who become infected can expect a mild to moderate illness (just like the flu) and will fully recover after a short time.  Individuals with underlying health conditions seem to be at a higher risk of severe COVID-19 infections.
