City Council Seeks Individuals to Serve on Charter Review Committee
The Garland City Council seeks individuals interested in serving on a City Charter Review Committee.
The Garland City Charter is the municipality’s foundational document that sets specific operational rules for the City government organization. The committee will review the charter to identify provisions that might require changes or updates to improve City operations or to comply with state of Texas law.
The mayor and each City Council member will appoint one committee member. Garland residents are encouraged to apply to serve on this important committee by completing a Boards and Commissions Application available on the City Secretary’s webpage. Completed applications can be submitted in person, by email to CitySecretary@GarlandTX.gov or by mail to René Dowl, City Secretary, 200 N. Fifth St., Garland, TX 75040. Applications must be received by the City Secretary’s Office by July 15. Appointments will be confirmed during Council’s Aug. 1 Regular Meeting.
