Garland City Council Lessens Water Restrictions
Effective May 1, 2015 - Twice-A-Week Watering

On April 20, the Garland City Council decided to follow North Texas Municipal Water District's twice-a-week watering schedule.  Garland water customers will be allowed to water their lawns with sprinklers two days a week.  Customers will have the flexibility of choosing which two days of the week they water.

Conservation Plan Key Points

  • No outdoor irrigation between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Residents and businesses must minimize non-essential water use
  • Newly-installed irrigation systems must be equipped with rain and freeze sensors
  • Watering with a hand-held hose, soaker hose or drip irrigation is allowed at any time
