The deadline for residents to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance is July 28, 2015. Individual Assistance applications for FEMA programs will not be accepted after that date. The deadline for residents and commercial property owners to apply for a low-interest Small Business Administration (SBA) loan is also July 28, 2015. Commercial Properties suffering from economic injury have until Feb. 29, 2016 to apply for a SBA loan.
To be eligible for federal assistance, affected property owners must register with FEMA by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov. The FEMA cutoff date for affected resident's to register for assistance is July 28, 2015.
As a public service, VisionLink, ConnectFirst, United Way of Abilene, the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC) and Crisis Cleanup are sponsoring a free, multi-agency debris removal and muck-out hotline for survivors of the recent severe weather in Texas. Through July 4, residents requiring assistance may call 1-800-451-1954 to request help with cleanup, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This information will be made available to responding voluntary agencies throughout Texas. Due to the extensive need, calling does not guarantee service. The hotline will not handle requests for any other types of service.
